FORT MYERS, Fla. (Sept. 12, 2013) – Red’s Fresh Seafood House & Tavern owners Bud and Mary LoCicero, along with General Manager Craig Lewis, have purchased a restaurant in Cape Coral and plan to open a second Red’s location in the space by October.

Located at 850 Lafayette Street, just south of Cape Coral Parkway, the space was formerly occupied by the River Palm Family Restaurant & Bar, Mr. C’s, Oasis and Eight Fifty.

“This is a great property, and we know we will have great success in this location,” said Bud LoCicero. “This new site will mirror our Pine Island location’s menu, quality and friendly customer service. We are very excited to be able to bring Red’s to Cape Coral and can’t wait to open and welcome our Cape neighbors.”

The LoCiceros have a long tenure in the restaurant industry. Prior to opening Red’s, the couple owned and operated a number of restaurants and seafood markets on Sanibel, in Fort Myers and Massachusetts.

Red’s opened on Pine Island in 2005 and is well known for its always fresh, never frozen seafood. While seafood is Red’s main feature, its menu also offers ribs, steak, chicken, salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, burritos and more.

The new Cape location features 7,100 square-feet with two dining rooms and seating for more than 200 and 60 parking spots. The facility is larger than Red’s current Pine Island location and includes a spacious outside sports bar and patio dining area.

“We are currently painting, restructuring and enhancing the interior space,” said Lewis. “With the additional space, we are looking at possibly adding outdoor and indoor entertainment and late-night dining options as well as group functions and private events.”

Red’s current location at 10880 Stringfellow Road on Pine Island is just minutes from Cape Coral.

“Now we will have two convenient locations for Southwest Florida to experience the highest quality seafood, steaks and more,” said Bud LoCicero.

A job fair to prepare for staffing the new location will be held this Saturday, Sept. 14 at the new Cape location from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We have already had a lot of people stop in to inquire about applying,” Lewis said. “Being able to create more jobs for Southwest Florida residents is a win-win.”

Red’s is open for dinner seven days a week: Sunday through Thursday from
4 to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. An extensive wine menu and full bar are also available. Reservations are not accepted.
