FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 2, 2014) – The 2014 Gateway Trinity Lutheran Church Charity Golf Tournament raised $26,000 for two local nonprofits.

The tournament was held on March 22 at Gateway Golf and Country Club. All proceeds were split equally between the Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida and Community Cooperative (CCMI).

The annual golf tournament has raised more than $57,000 in the last three years.

This year’s event included 132 golfers with 61 local companies and families sponsoring holes, 35 local businesses donating raffle prizes and 202 attendees at the dinner following the tournament.

“Gateway Trinity Lutheran Church strives to be part of this community by not only being a place to gather on Sunday mornings but to also be a church that is community minded,” said Russ Reynolds, tournament director. “Our mission as a church is to be a blessing to our entire community, and we are thankful to all our participants and donors.”
