FORT MYERS, Fla. (Sept. 23, 2014) – Whether you’re a cyclist, a runner or a Southwest Florida resident simply seeking a bit of local flavor, you’re sure to satisfy your appetite for excitement at the 11th annual Everyone Rides fundraising event on Sunday, Dec. 7, at JetBlue Park located at 11500 Fenway South Drive in Fort Myers.

Presented by Ted Todd Insurance and Allstate Insurance, Everyone Rides is a multi-event fundraiser, which also includes Everyone Runs and Everyone Relax, to support the programs of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County, which provide safe and supportive low-cost afterschool and summer enrichment programs to our community’s at-risk youth.

“We are excited to be a part of an event that encourages heart-healthy family fun while showcasing the beauty of Southwest Florida,” said Shannon Lane, chief professional officer of the BGCLC. “With past riders and runners signing up from all over the United States, we look forward to reaching our goal of 1,000 registered participants this year.”

Sponsored by Radiology Regional, Everyone Rides includes a family-friendly, non-competitive multi-distance bike ride throughout Southwest Florida. Riders may choose from four, fully supported distances including 15, 30, 62 and 100-mile rides. All ride routes will be clearly marked and supported, and a professional guest cyclist, along with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, will escort the 62 and 100-mile routes.

A brunch menu will begin at 8 a.m. followed by a lunch menu from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Everyone Relax will also host approximately 40 vendors in a Health, Lifestyle and Fitness Expo, and provide a special “Kid Zone,” sponsored by Lee Memorial Health Systems, with bounce houses, laser tag, a rock wall and more for the whole family to enjoy.

Celebrating 40 years of providing quality youth programs and brighter futures for young people in the Lee County community, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County works to inspire and enable young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The BGCLC strives to provide a safe, world-class Club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who walks through its doors. The organization envisions all of its members graduating high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character, citizenship while adapting a healthy lifestyle.

The area’s five Clubs are located in communities with the greatest need where similar services are limited or nonexistent. Membership dues are $10 per school year so that all children can have access to its programs.
