FORT MYERS, Fla. (April 29, 2015) – The Junior League of Fort Myers, Inc. hosted more than 300 people at its Spring Fling to Spring Break fundraiser on April 25, which raised $4,500 through raffles and donations.

Held at the Fort Myers Brewing Company, the full-day event included various children’s activities and games, raffle ticket sales and prizes, face painting by Faces by Joelle, stilt walker and balloon artist Way Too Tall Torrie, and live music by TrOUbLeMaKerZ.

Fort Myers Brewing Company donated 20 percent of sales from all house brews to the Junior League, and three food truck companies that were also onsite donated up to 15 percent of their sales to the Junior League.

A member of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc., the Junior League of Fort Myers, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1966 and made up of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

The JLFM is also a granting organization, providing mini-grants to organizations throughout Southwest Florida’s five-county area to programs that create better life outcomes for our area’s youth. Since 1966, the Junior League of Fort Myers has contributed more than one million hours and more than $1 million to community projects and programs. JLFM memberships are open to all women aged 21 and older of all races, religions and national origin who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism.
