FORT MYERS, Fla. (Feb. 5, 2016) – The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers will host a training session workshop for local business owners and managers who are considering government contracting with local, county or state government entities on Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Housing Authority’s location at 4224 Renaissance Preserve Way in Fort Myers.

During the workshop, Grow Your Business! Become MBE, Section 3, or Florida DOT DBE Certified, attendees will learn how to obtain Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Section 3 and Florida Department of Transportation Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certifications, and intended for existing business owners and managers who have been in business more than a year.

Speakers for the event include Millie Class, FSBDC, consultant; Twaski Jackson, director of client services at the Housing Authority of the city of Fort Myers; and Julio Rodriguez, DBE program manager at the Lee County Port Authority.
