FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 15, 2013) – Thirty staff and family members of Myers, Brettholtz & Company, PA certified public accountants and business consultants recently spent the day at Child Care of Southwest Florida, Inc.’s Fort Myers’ location providing gardening, carpentry and other volunteer services.

The day was part of United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades’ Days of Caring working to assist those in the community at a time when they need it most.

“Providing service to the community when we can include our staff and their families is always that much more gratifying,” said Lori Sampson-Wilson, MBA, CAM principal of Myers, Brettholtz. “It was hard work, but we all enjoyed it.”

United Way’s Days of Caring is a year-round program that connects businesses with nonprofit agencies in need of assistance. Businesses have many choices as they select projects needing support by the agencies, including the type of project, location in the community, degree of physical labor and full-day or half-day time commitment.

Child Care of Southwest Florida Inc., a United Way agency established in 1967, provides early childhood education, as well as voluntary prekindergarten and Head Start programs, at its six accredited centers in Lee and Hendry counties.
