Suffolk Construction tops off Phase 2 at Marina Walk Resort Villas

BRADENTON, Fla. (March 16, 2017) – Suffolk Construction recently celebrated a significant milestone with the topping off Phase 2 of Minto’s Marina Walk Resort Villas community in Bradenton, Fla. 

The topping-off luncheon event was attended by more than 250 trade partners as well as representatives from Minto Communities and several design consultant firms. The event included prize giveaways, awards and recognition for outstanding performance, especially with respect to safety.

“We feel it is important to mark our progress to date and recognize our trade partners for the value they bring to the project,” said Pete Tuffo, chief operating officer for the southeast region of Suffolk Construction. “All of our trade partners have gone above and beyond the call of duty to execute this project.”

Marina Walk Resort Villas is located within the Harbour Isle neighborhood in Bradenton at 12300 Manatee Avenue. This 220-acre island community is almost entirely surrounded by the waters of Anna Maria Sound along the western shoreline and Perico Bayou to the east. Each Marina Walk Resort Villa building consists of four stories over parking, with 12 waterfront residences. The luxurious villas range in size from 1,483 to 1,650 square feet with two master suites with full baths or a master suite, two bedrooms and three baths. Private amenities include a resort-style pool, shade pavilion, splash zone and recreation area. All residences have magnificent views of Anna Maria Sound or the Harbour Isle lagoon.

Suffolk completed the first phase last spring.

“By utilizing lean principles and pull planning, we have been able to implement a well-thought-out schedule to deliver the subsequent phase,” said Josh Christensen, vice president of west coast Florida operations for Suffolk Construction. “Our team also collaborated with our trade partners to utilize BIM 360 as part of our Quality Assurance program from day one of the project to ensure that we turn over a product that meets and exceeds our client’s expectations.”

Christensen further explained that Suffolk uses virtual design and construction technologies on every project to minimize risk, identify conflicts and ultimately save clients time and money.
