FORT MYERS, Fla. (Aug. 14, 2017) – Fort Myers residents Katie and Danny Haas were featured in the Aug. 14 issue of Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal.

The feature story, written by SBJ’s Executive Editor Abraham D. Madkour, looks at what day-to-day life is like for Katie, vice president of Florida business operations for the Red Sox and her husband Danny, special assistant to the general manager for the Baltimore Orioles.

Katie and Danny first met in 1999. She was a high school senior and assistant director of game-day operations for the Red Sox’s Florida State League Class A team in Sarasota, and Danny was an outfielder on the team.

Today, the married couple has four World Series rings between them and manage to balance life with two young children while Danny’s scouting keeps him on the road roughly 200 nights a year.

“Danny and I really think our lives are pretty boring,” said Katie. “While baseball dominates our work life, we do our best not to let it interfere with our home life. It’s all about our kids and the team we have at home.”

The article explores everything from how the couple juggles their hectic schedules and growing up in a baseball family to what it’s like for them during the playoffs and even the careful consideration given to what the children wear and how they split allegiances.
