ESTERO, Fla. (Aug. 16, 2017) Suffolk recently expanded Regional Controller Terra Giddings’ role to include its Tampa market.

Giddings joined Suffolk’s Boston office in 2004 after graduating with management degree from Florida State University. In 2013, she relocated to the construction firm’s Miami office before helping to launch Suffolk’s Florida West Coast headquarters in Estero in 2015.

“With our expanded presence in Hillsborough County, we needed someone with Terra’s expertise and company tenure to serve as a strategic partner for our West Coast operations and help maintain directives to drive performance of this region,” said Vice President of Operations Josh Christensen.

In her expanded role, Giddings will be responsible for the financial performance of projects from Naples to Tampa, from preconstruction through financial close out. This includes annual and five-year business planning, financial forecasts for projects as well as ongoing financial reports. In the past year, Giddings oversaw $525 million in construction projects and will oversee an additional $675 million for upcoming projects in Tampa.

“I’ve worked in construction since my freshmen year of college,” she said. “What started out as a part-time job to help me get through college has turned into a full-time career that I love.”

Giddings will continue to serve as co-chair of Team Suffolk, an employee engagement program that organizes events from volunteering opportunities to social outings with colleagues and as a board member of The Giving Circle, an employee-driven program with the mission to provide opportunities for company employees to help and support the Suffolk family and their communities in times of need.
