Program to provide local certified firms with development opportunity and resources
within the construction industry

 

TAMPA, FL, September 19, 2017 – Suffolk is launching its 2017 Trades Partnership Series which assists certified trade partner firms in fostering long-term relationships and developing their industry skills. A select group of participants will be accepted into the program which is being held in Tampa beginning Friday, November 3. Applications are now being accepted through October 6.

 

To be eligible for the program, applicant firms must have at least two years in business and hold a certification as a Disadvantaged Minority Enterprise, Disadvantaged Women Business Enterprise, Small Business Enterprise, or an equivalent certification from a governmental agency in Florida. For this year’s program, Suffolk will be partnering with the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Black Women in Construction, and Associated Builders and Contractors.

 

“We are deeply invested in creating equal access and opportunity for quality-driven, experienced trade partners on all of our projects, and we are thrilled to bring our Trades Partnership Series to Tampa in support of this goal,” said Suffolk Vice President Josh Christensen. “Our objective is to provide valuable curriculum and access to resources for the participating firms, and most importantly, creating meaningful, long-lasting relationships.”

 

Accepted participants will begin the program on November 3 during the kickoff reception from 12-2pm. Courses then take place on November 6 – November 9 from 4-7pm. A final course and graduation ceremony will be held on November 10 from 12-2pm. Sessions will be held in Suffolk’s Tampa office located at 616 Channelside Drive, Suite 102. Attendance will be mandatory at all sessions for participants to successfully complete the program at which point they are connected to a mentor from Suffolk’s leadership team. 

 

The application deadline is Friday, October 6 at 5pm ET. Applicants will then be notified of their acceptance status by Friday, October 13 at 5pm ET. All eligible firms are encouraged to apply.
