FORT MYERS, Fla.–  In conjunction with their Hats Off to Heroes program presented by John Hancock, the Boston Red Sox will offer complimentary tickets to the opening single admission doubleheader of its Spring Training season on Thursday, February 22, at 1:05 p.m. against the Northeastern University Huskies followed by a matchup against the Boston College Eagles.

All first responders in Southwest Florida including police, sheriff, emergency medical service, fire personnel and active military will receive two free tickets with proper id. The complimentary tickets will be available for pick up at the JetBlue Park box office, beginning February 1 thru the 17th, on a first-come, first-serve basis, while supplies last. The JetBlue Park box office hours are Monday thru Friday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hurricane Irma made a direct hit on Sunday, September 10 making landfall in Lee and Collier Counties, the spring training homes of both the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins. Following the storm, both teams joined forces to encourage giving to help those in their spring training community through the SWFL Hurricane Irma Relief Fund. Each team donated $100,000 to assist with Hurricane Irma relief efforts.
