Estero, Fla. – Suffolk recently named Adriana Resendez as corporate citizenship program manager for its southeast region.

In her new role, Resendez will manage Suffolk’s nonprofit partnerships and the company’s Giving Circle, strategically design corporate social responsibility pillars and engage and motivate employees through volunteerism.

Originally from California and fluent in Spanish, Resendez earned a bachelor’s degree in American Studies and Ethnicity from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree in Global Affairs from New York University. Her academic fellowships include being a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow at USC, a Fulbright U.S. Student Program Grantee in Nebaj, Guatamala and receiving an O’Mara Grant for Innovative Research in Oaxaca, Mexico.

As a recipient of a Habitat for Humanity home with her family as a child, Resendez has remained a volunteer and donor of the nonprofit and recently completed an International Habitat for Humanity Build in Vietnam and has served as an International Key Note Speaker for programs in California and Atlanta. She also founded a company called ADIZ that works with artisans in Mexico to sell their handcrafted leather goods in the U.S. and use proceeds to give back to local organizations.

“Adriana’s extensive nonprofit and philanthropic training will serve us well as we continue to grow and expand our corporate giving initiatives in the southeast region,” said Chief Operating Officer Pete Tuffo. “She has successfully bridged the world of philanthropy with her passion for giving back and we look forward to her helping Suffolk developstrategic partnerships while engaging our employees in a variety of volunteer efforts.”
