FORT MYERS, Fla. (Jan. 20, 2014) – Dr. Patrick Flaharty, M.D., Britten Stine, ARNP and Debbie McDonald, PA of Azul Cosmetic Surgery and Medical Spa will have an article published in an upcoming issue of INSIGHT, the journal of the American Society of Ophthalmic Registered Nurses.

The article, Selective Reduction of Fat using Cryolipolysis “Fat Freezing” includes information on this clinically proven non-invasive procedure for selective fat reduction.

“This freezing of unwanted fatty bulges has proven consistently effective in reducing the fat content by approximately 20 percent with each treatment,” said Dr. Flaharty. “Repeat treatments to specific areas results in a further reduction of the remaining fat cells.”

Cryolipolysis was FDA cleared in September 2010 for reduction of fat in the abdomen and flanks (love handles). The procedure involves applying an applicator to the targeted area. Once applied, the machine is activated creating intense suction, and the roll of skin and fat are sucked into the applicator. The nonsurgical procedure is reliable, well tolerated by almost all patients and has no downtime.

INSIGHT is published quarterly, and the Azul team’s article will be published in January.
