NAPLES, Fla. (Nov. 23, 2016) – Ryan Benson, MBA, principal with A. Vernon Allen Builder and board of directors member for the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County, will now also serve as chair of its facilities committee.
He previously served as chair of the construction committee for the nonprofit’s new 24,512-square-foot Immokalee Youth Development Center that recently opened. The new building serves the unmet, out-of-school time needs of Immokalee youth and houses a full-service cafeteria, kitchen, classrooms, computer labs, dance and music studios, arts academy, teen center and more.
Originally from Canada, Benson has lived in Florida for almost 20 years. After graduating from Canterbury School in Fort Myers, he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stetson University in DeLand, Fla., and his Master of Business Administration degree from Florida International University in Miami. He has been in the construction industry for 15 years, and now owns A. Vernon Allen Builder with Andrew Bringardner.
In addition to his role as a board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County, Benson is involved in several community organizations including previously serving as president of Naples Gulf Shore Rotary Club, on the board of trustees for Canterbury School and is current a Collier Building Industry Association board of directors member. He also continues to guest lecture at Stetson’s School of Business.
