BRADENTON, Fla. (Dec. 1, 2016) – Suffolk Construction recently completed construction of the first new beachfront condominium community on Longboat Key in more than seven years.

Ascentia Development’s Aria Condominium is a high-end, five-story complex that includes 16 oceanfront luxury units with floor-to-ceiling glass and expansive terraces with unobstructed views of the Gulf. Units range in size from 3,804 to 3,940 square feet and offer private elevators and oversized garages.

Aria’s amenities include a detached lagoon-view fitness center with a Pilates/Yoga salon, locker room, steam shower and three luxury cabanas alongside the infinity-edge pool. The second-floor units and the four penthouses include private infinity-edge lap pools, private spas, fire tables and rooftop gardens. Every unit has a summer kitchen on the patio.

The property is on 50 acres of the historic Villa Am Meer which was built in 1935. The original home is still located at the back of the property and is used as a clubhouse.

Much of the home still includes the original floors, ceiling, fireplace and stained glass on the windows.

Construction of Aria Condominium began in June of 2014. The site’s limited space and close proximity to the beach provided an opportunity for Suffolk to implement a number of innovative construction techniques to successfully deliver the project. One such example was the site dewatering process which was necessary for the installation of both storm chambers and the decorative pond. Because excess water was maintained on site through temporary ponds and berms, site access and space was limited. By properly planning the dewatering process as well as identifying offsite parking with Longboat Key vendors, Suffolk was able to successfully execute this challenging component without disruption. Additionally, Suffolk developed a partnership with the neighboring communities and local officials to ensure that construction would not impact residents, visitors or the surrounding environment. This included thoughtful coordination during sea turtle season as to not disrupt any wildlife.
