FORT MYERS, Fla. (Jan. 8, 2016) – Twaski Jackson, director of client services at The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers, recently joined The News-Press Young Professional Advisory Board.
As the director of client services at the HACFM, Jackson is responsible for the oversight and management of the Community Supportive Services (CSS), Family-Self-Sufficiency (FSS), Section 3, Housing Counseling and Elderly Services programs, which are all geared toward improving the quality of life for the economically disadvantaged population. He received a bachelor’s degree in business management from Dillard University in New Orleans and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix in New Orleans. In addition to serving on The News-Press Young Professionals Advisory Board, Jackson serves as vice-chair on the board of directors for Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida, Inc., and the Local Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, an appointment by the City of Fort Myers City Council.
Newly established, The News-Press Young Professional Advisory Board is made up of young professionals – millennials and Gen-Xers – who live and work throughout Southwest Florida, from Naples to Cape Coral, and are passionate about community and entrepreneurship. In their new roles, they will help to inform the direction of The News-Press’ coverage, sharing their perspective on our community’s most pressing challenges, contributing content and ideas, and helping The News-Press innovate and understand how to connect its content to an even wider audience, across as many channels and platforms as possible.
The Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers serves more than 3,500 families as a catalyst for increasing access to safe, stable and sustainable housing and to help develop, preserve and revitalize communities through affordable rental housing. The agency is dedicated to empowering families with the means to become as self-sufficient as possible through its Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) and HOPE VI Community Supportive Services (CSS) programs, encouraging and facilitating movement toward financial independence beyond the need for HACFM services.
