FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 17, 2013) – The 2nd Annual No-Limit Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County will take place Saturday, June 8 at 6 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Fort Myers.

Presenting sponsor of this year’s event is Scanlon Acura. Additional sponsors include Ted Todd Insurance, Universal Vacations, Total Electric, Bagel Bagel Café, John Santoro and the Crowne Plaza, the event’s host site. Limited sponsorships ranging from $250 to $1,000 are still available.

“Because last year’s event sold out, we decided to add an additional 50 spaces,” said Justin Stockman, chairperson for the event and Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County board member. “We are very thankful to all of our sponsors who have been a supporting role in the lives of the at-risk youth of the Boys & Girls Clubs and have signed on to help their cause.”

The evening will include a cocktail reception with complimentary food and beer. Prizes include $2,000 for first place, $750 for second and $250 for third.

Now in its 39th year of providing quality youth programs in Lee County, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County will use the funds raised to provide more than 300,000 hours of service to more than 420 young people in our community. More than 1,300 youth demonstrated academic success, character, leadership and healthy lifestyles last year from the agency’s programs.

“These youth rely on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County to provide a safe place to explore their interests and learn valuable life skills,” said Shannon Lane, chief professional officer for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County. “This cannot be accomplished without the generous support of businesses and individuals in our community.”

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs is to inspire and enable young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Membership dues are $10 per school year so that all children can have access to our programs. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County relies upon the philanthropic support of individuals, corporations and foundations in order to sustain and grow its services.

The tournament entry fee is $100 per person. Registration is available online at www.bgclcpoker.eventbrite.com and is first-come, first-serve.

The Crowne Plaza is located at 13051 Bell Tower Drive in Fort Myers.
