FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 14, 2013) – Red’s Fresh Seafood House & Tavern’s new Cape Coral location will hold its grand opening on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18 and 19.
Located at 850 Lafayette Street just south of Cape Coral Parkway, the new location features 7,100 square-feet with 60 available parking spots, two dining rooms and seating for more than 200 people. The facility is larger than Red’s current Pine Island location, which will remain open, and includes a spacious outside sports bar and patio dining area with 12 flat-screen TVs.
Red’s owners Bud and Mary LoCicero, along with General Manager Craig Lewis, purchased the restaurant space in September formerly occupied by the River Palm Family Restaurant & Bar, Mr. C’s, Oasis and Eight Fifty.
“We are so excited to have been able to get this location and open so quickly,” said Bud LoCicero. “This new site will mirror our Pine Island location’s menu, quality and friendly customer service. We are very excited to be able to bring Red’s to Cape Coral.”
LoCicero said both locations offer a daily early-bird menu from 4 to 5 p.m.
Red’s opened on Pine Island in 2005 and is well known for its always fresh, never frozen seafood. While seafood is Red’s main feature, its menu also offers ribs, steak, chicken, salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, burritos and more.
The LoCiceros have a long tenure in the restaurant industry. Prior to opening Red’s on Pine Island, the couple owned and operated a number of restaurants and seafood markets on Sanibel, in Fort Myers and Massachusetts.
“Now we will have two convenient locations for Southwest Florida to experience the highest quality seafood, steaks and more,” Lewis said.
A job fair was held in September and had more than 200 attendees filling out applications. According to Lewis, the new location will employ 50 to 60 staff members.
“Being able to create jobs for Southwest Florida is a win-win,” he said.
Red’s Cape Coral location is open for dinner seven days a week: Sunday through Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 3 to 10 p.m. An extensive wine menu and full bar are also available. Reservations are not accepted.
