FORT MYERS, Fla. (Feb. 13, 2014) – In partnership with the Art Council of Southwest Florida, the Southwest Florida Community Foundation held a reception for the current featured artwork in this year’s Art & Community art exhibition series on Friday, Feb. 7 at the foundation’s headquarters in Fort Myers.

The featured works come from the Southwest Florida Pastel Society and are a group of pastel pieces on both canvas and paper. The exhibit will run through February.

The Southwest Florida Pastel Society is a nonprofit organization of pastel artists who live and work in Southwest Florida. The society encourages and promotes its enthusiastic pastel artists in their growth and success through monthly meetings and programs, workshops, activities and exhibition opportunities. The society welcomes all new members.

Upcoming art receptions include the Center for the Arts of Bonita Springs on Friday, March 7, and Art Quilters Unlimited and the Alliance for the Arts on Friday, April 4. Both receptions will take place at 4 p.m. at the SWFLCF office located at 8771 College Parkway in Fort Myers.
