FORT MYERS, Fla. (Sept. 26, 2014) – Only a few foursome spots remain for this year’s Swings For The Sox annual golf tournament, which will be held on Friday, Oct. 17 at Tiburon Golf Club located at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort at 2620 Tiburon Drive in Naples. Organized by the Red Sox Foundation, the golf tournament will include a scramble format with prizes for the longest drive, putting, closest to the pin and more will begin at 9 a.m.

Prior to the tournament, JetBlue Park, located at 11500 Fenway South Drive in Fort Myers, will host a Party in the Park “Tee Off” Party from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16. The event will include dinner courtesy of Rib City on the Green Monster, self-guided tours, a one-of-a-kind silent auction and raffle prizes. The night will also include opportunities for participants to take batting practice swings from home plate for the chance to win Spring Training season tickets for 2015.

All golfers will receive a gift bag, lunch at Tiburon following golf on Friday, entry into the Party in the Park with dinner provided by Rib City on Thursday and the opportunity to take batting practice on the playing field at JetBlue Park. Golf participants will also have the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind silent auction items and win unique raffle prizes.

Proceeds from this year’s tournament will support the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida and the Immokalee Foundation. Last year’s event raised more than $40,000 to support the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, Inc.

This year’s event is presented by The Boston Globe and The Hertz Corporation and is sponsored by Lee Memorial Health Systems Foundation, Marco Island Marriott, CVS Caremark, FAS Global International LLC, Westin Resort Cape Coral, DLD Builders, Aramark, Jerseys Sports Café, Service Painting of SW Florida, Gerber Collision, Marquis Wealth Management, First Watch Restaurants and Rib City.

Tournament sponsorships are still available and range from $150 to $10,000. Only a few player foursome packages, which begin at $800, are left. Still available, non-player Party in the Park passes, which include entry into the park, dinner and batting practice swings, are $50 per person and $25 for children younger than 12. Individual playing positions are $250 per person.

Raffle items that can be used to aid in raising more money for the Foundation and additional funds for those in need throughout Southwest Florida are also being accepted.

Founded in 1981, the mission of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida (CAC) is to improve the lives of children and their families through a coordinated response to child abuse and neglect.

The Immokalee Foundation provides a range of education programs that focus on building pathways to success through college and post-secondary preparation and support, mentoring and tutoring, opportunities for broadening experiences and life skills development leading to economic independence.
