FORT MYERS, Fla. (Nov. 18, 2014) – Scanlon Auto Group recently held a grand opening for its new Acura dealership, located off of U.S. 41 at 14270 South Tamiami Trail in Fort Myers.

Scanlon’s Acura dealership represents the latest “Generation III” Model Acura facility and the first of its kind in the country.

“We are very excited for our customers to see this new, state-of-the-art facility,” said Scanlon Acura General Manager Frank Leslie.

Owen-Ames-Kimball Company served as the design/build team on the Acura project along with Ramon Acevedo, AIA of GMA Architects Planners as the project architect.

The new dealership encompasses 11,000 square feet aligning with the latest in Acura design elements. A two-bay enclosed and air conditioned new car delivery area has been added. Features also include tile flooring throughout both showroom and service shop work areas. Design intent conveys an abundance of exterior natural light throughout. Interior appointments and furnishings reflect the latest in style and design.

A car wash facility has been constructed to service customers along with a complimentary coffee bar, waiting room and Wi-Fi connection.

“With this completion, we have invested more than $25 million into Lee County with our new construction projects located on 11.79 acres and created more than 40 new jobs,” said Jay Scanlon, president of Scanlon Auto Group. “We are proud to say more than 90 percent of the construction work was completed by local subcontractors. We have called Southwest Florida our home for more than three decades, and we plan to be here for many more.”

Scanlon Acura now features the new 2015 TLX model. Prices start at $30,995 for this sedan that replaces both the TSX and TL. The TLX features front-wheel drive with a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine with 206 horsepower, mated to a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and featuring the Acura’s Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) system. The TLX is also available with a 290-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 mated to Acura’s new nine-speed automatic transmission. Acura’s Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive is available with the 3.5-liter engine.

The Scanlon family has been operating car dealerships in Southwest Florida since 1980. Today, Scanlon Auto Group includes Scanlon Lexus and Scanlon Acura, both located south on U.S. 41 in Fort Myers.
