FORT MYERS, Fla. (Dec. 22, 2014) – The Red Sox Foundation recently hosted 500 local foster and adoptive children and their siblings and parents at JetBlue Park for a holiday gathering.

In partnership with the Southwest Florida Foster & Adoptive Parent Association, the Red Sox along with Aramark and Costco provided a fun-filled day at the park for these families.

In addition to food courtesy of Aramark and Costco, Let’s Bounce supplied bounce houses on Sat., Dec. 13. Jolly Old St. Nick also made a special appearance to visit and take photos with the children.

The SWFL Foster & Adoptive Parent Association, Inc. is an independent 501(c)(3) organization of foster and adoptive parents representing District 20. The organization’s mission is to improve communications within the foster and adoptive community, partner with various organizations and providers in the area, help improve education and training, act as a conduit for pooled resources and provide peer support and mentoring.

The Red Sox Foundation is a 501(c)(3) and the official team charity of the Boston Red Sox. The Foundation’s primary focus locally is in serving the health, education, recreation and social service needs of children and families across Southwest Florida.
