FORT MYERS, Fla. (Nov. 11, 2015) – The Fort Myers Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association is now accepting applications for membership.

Membership is $25 per person annually, and all past FMPD Citizen Police Academy class members are invited to join.

Similar to other Citizen Police Academy Alumni Associations across the state and country, Fort Myers’ CPAAA is committed to bring together the graduates of the Fort Myers Citizen’s Police Academy to enhance relations between the community and the Fort Myers Police Department and to provide other assistance and support to the police department and its families whenever possible.

The association meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at 4312 Michigan Avenue in Fort Myers

About the Citizen Police Academy

The Citizen Police Academy gives residents a better understanding of the Fort Myers Police Department, how community members can work in partnership with the department and arms them with a wealth of knowledge and understanding of what the FMPD does on a daily basis. Classes are held in the spring and fall of each year and run for 10 consecutive weeks with additional optional classes on weekends.
