FORT MYERS, Fla. (March 30, 2016) – The Fort Myers Police Foundation will hold its Third annual Golf Invitational on Monday, Sept. 26.

All funds raised by the Police Foundation go toward purchasing life-saving equipment for the Fort Myers Police Department. Since its formation in 2014, the Police Foundation has raised $150,000 that has gone toward purchasing medical kits for patrol cars, ballistic shields, electronic ear protection for shooting ranges, a firearms training simulator and more.

The golf tournament will take place at Colonial Country Club, located at 9181 Independence Way in Fort Myers. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch at 11:30 and a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. The tournament will be followed by a cocktail hour at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 with an awards presentation, silent auction and 50/50 raffle. There will also be a $100,000 hole-in-one contest.

The entry fee is $200 per player and $100 for a non-playing guest. Individual and corporate sponsorships range from $1,500 to $5,000. Program ads are also available from $100 to $250.

“The men and women of the FMPD put themselves at risk each and every day to make our community safe, and we hold this annual fundraiser to provide the necessary safety equipment to help them return to their families each night,” said Larry Romano, president of the Fort Myers Police Foundation. “We appreciate the community for continuing to support this event to help the public servants in blue protect us.”

Registration and sponsorships are now available online at www.fortmyerspolicefoundation.org or by calling 239-321-7740.

The Fort Myers Police Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose goal is to help build a stronger bond between the community and its local police department.
