FORT MYERS, Fla. (June 22, 2016) – The Rotary Club of Fort Myers – Sunrise Pro-Am Golf Classic raised $27,000 for The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools.  The title sponsor for the 2016 tournament was Millennium Physician Group.

The event was held Friday, May 13 at The Forest Country Club in Fort Myers. The Pro-Am Golf Classic featured 84 amateur players and 22 professionals. The professionals competed for a $3,000 purse. Three professionals, Chris Trout, David Guy and Alex Medinis shot a 69. Chris Trout won the tournament on a tie breaker.

Proceeds will fund scholarships for low-income, at-risk students enrolled in the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools’ Take Stock in Children program. Take Stock in Children is a statewide program that provides a unique opportunity for students to escape the cycle of poverty through education.
