NAPLES, Fla. (Jan. 2, 2018) – Ryan Benson, principal with A. Vernon Allen Builder in Naples has been appointed to serve as a delegate on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Home Builders for 2018.
Since it was founded in the early 1940s, NAHB has served as the voice of America’s housing industry. A federation of more than 700 state and local associations, NAHB represents more than 140,000 members. About one-third are home builders and remodelers. The rest work in closely related specialties such as sales and marketing, housing finance, and manufacturing and supplying building materials.
Benson earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stetson University in DeLand, Fla., and his Master of Business Administration degree from Florida International University in Miami. He has been in the construction industry for 16 years, and is a finalist for the National Association of Home Builders Young Professional’s Award, In 2017 Benson was named as one of Gulfshore Business Magazine’s 40 Under 40 recipients.
Benson is involved in a number of organizations, including serving as a delegate on the Board of Directors of the Florida Home Builders Association, board member and chairman of government affairs for the Collier Building Industry Association, past president of Naples Gulfshore Sunset Rotary, vice chairman of the Boys and Girls Club of Collier County and a past trustee for Canterbury School.
In 1951, A Vernon Allen established the company, which became one of the first homebuilders in Port Royal and is the largest builder in the Port Royal Community today, as well as one of the most established and finest custom homebuilders in Naples. Benson and his business partner, Andy Bringardner, completed their acquisition of the firm in 2015 after almost a decade working as managers of the firm. For more information about A.
