Estero,Fla. –Suffolk recently completed construction of Building R as well as the community’s clubhouse addition and renovation at Moorings Park in Naples.

The clubhouse project includes a 48,408 square-foot addition of a Park Grill restaurant, board room, offices, Porte-cochereand parking area.  The renovations took place in the existing main dining room and grill room.  The project included partial demolition of the existing clubhouse, renovation to portions of the existing clubhouse and an addition/expansion including a new porte cochere.

“All work was completed in the midst of an active campus, and part of the existing clubhouse building remained occupied as construction took place,” said Rod Nobrega, project executive with Suffolk. We took great care to not disrupt the residents or staff.”

Nobrega added that in order for the construction to be as seamless as possible, Suffolk met daily with the Moorings Park staff to communicate the activities that would take place along the way and presented regularly at resident meetings. Any activities that created dust or noise were scheduled during off-hours when the dining facility and other clubhouse amenities were experiencing less traffic.

A focal point of the new clubhouse is the new porte cochere, which includes a steel pyramid structure that serves as the centerpiece and roof. It was pre-fabricated off-site, shipped in pieces, and then reconstructed atop the porte cochere.

The 78,816-square-foot mid-rise residences at Building R are the newest addition to Moorings Park’s residential offerings and are located in the center of the community with convenient access to numerous life-enriching amenities.
