(Sept. 30, 2013)\u2014The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bgclc.net\" target=\"_blank\">Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Lee County<\/a> is busy sorting the large amount of supplies donated by local Michaels Stores after a successful supply drive, held from Aug. 17 to Sept. 17, at the three Southwest Florida store locations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><!--more-->Directly benefiting local BGCLC members, the supply drive collected five large shipping boxes full of folders, notebooks, book covers, award certificates, drawing pencils, stickers, colored pencils, bookmarks, erasers and more. Michaels Stores\u2019 customers were also encouraged to donate supplies during their checkout process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very grateful to Michaels and those members of the community who donated supplies to benefit this effort,\u201d said BGCLC Chief Professional Officer Shannon Lane. \u201cIt\u2019s these simple tools that are vital in achieving academic success. The supplies will also be used as homework incentive prizes throughout the year. \u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud to partner with Boys &amp; Girls Clubs to give kids the needed school supplies to better handle their workload and succeed academically,\u201d said,\u00a0Michaels Stores, Inc.\u00a0CEO Chuck Rubin. \u201cAt\u00a0Michaels, we believe in making a\u00a0difference in the lives of our associates and customers by supporting organizations with a strong focus on families and children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The mission of the Boys &amp; Girls Clubs is to inspire and enable young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
