Truck Departs Fenway Park February 5;

Exhibition Season Begins February 22

 

 

BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today announced that the 2018 Spring Training season begins February 14 at JetBlue Park at Fenway South in Lee County, FL. Starting February 22, the team will play a total of 17 home games, including 15 Grapefruit League games and the traditional college doubleheader of seven-inning games against the Northeastern University Huskies and the Boston College Eagles. Updated 2018 Red Sox Spring Training Schedule

 

Beginning Saturday, December 2, fans can purchase tickets for all home games at JetBlue Park starting at 10 a.m. at the Fenway South Complex and on redsox.com. Fans needing ADA accessible seating or those who may not have a computer may call 877-REDSOX9. Hearing impaired fans may call the Red Sox TTY line at (617) 226-6644. Mastercard is the preferred payment of the Boston Red Sox.

 

Pitchers and catchers hold their first workout February 14. The first full squad workout will take place February 19.  Workouts are free and open to the public.

 

The team opens its exhibition season Thursday, February 22, at 1:05 p.m., with a single-admission doubleheader against the Northeastern University Huskies and the Boston College Eagles.

 

The Grapefruit League schedule launches at home at JetBlue Park on Friday, February 23, against the Minnesota Twins. The matchup is one of seven contests against the Twins with additional home games on March 7 and 16. The Red Sox will travel to Hammond Stadium at the CenturyLink Sports Complex on February 27, March 7, 14, and 25.

 

The Red Sox will host their American League East rival New York Yankees on Saturday, March 3, at JetBlue Park, and will then visit them Friday, March 23, at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Other division matchups include four games versus the Baltimore Orioles, five against the Tampa Bay Rays, and two against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Red Sox will also face the World Series Champion Houston Astros at JetBlue Park on Saturday, March 24.

 

The club will once again hold an Open House at JetBlue Park on Saturday, February 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  The free event, open to the public, welcomes fans to walk around the park and the grounds while enjoying concessions and entertainment on Fenway South Drive.

 

The Red Sox’ equipment truck will depart from Fenway Park on Monday, February 5.  Truck Day is presented by JetBlue.

 

The 2018 season is the Red Sox’ seventh at JetBlue Park at Fenway South. The 2018 Red Sox Spring Training schedule is attached and subject to change. Additional games to close out the spring training season are expected to be announced at a later date.
