FORT MYERS, Fla. (Sept. 13, 2013) – The Crowne Plaza Hotel, located at 13051 Bell Tower Drive in Fort Myers, held its Fall Beer Summit on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 5:30 p.m.

Featuring Chicago-based brewery Goose Island, the summit included a guided tour of Goose Island’s “vintage ales,” as well as a seasonal four-course menu prepared by Executive Chef Kevin Healey:

First course: Brie & Lobster Claw Salad with mixed greens and orange vinaigrette

Second course: Oysters Rockefeller

Third course: Steak Au Poivre with potato gratin and fresh local vegetables

Fourth course: Chocolate Lava Cake with a warm caramel sauce

“The demand from past beer summit guests make this one of the most fun and creative events we host at the Crowne Plaza,” said Jim Larkin, general manager of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Fort Myers. “We were delighted to welcome Goose Island brewery to this season’s event and look forward to having many more beer summits.”

All proceeds from the summit were donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs is to inspire and enable young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Clubs provide safe places where children can learn, grow, receive help with homework and develop coping skills that assist them in avoiding destructive influences in a fast-paced, complex world. Membership dues are $10 per school year so that all children can have access to our programs. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County relies upon the philanthropic support of individuals, corporations and foundations in order to sustain and grow its services.
