Sanibel, Fla. (Dec. 5, 2014) – Coming off its first successful season at its Sanibel location, Bennett’s Fresh Roast will be extending its hours and menu offerings at its shop, located at 1020 Periwinkle Way, including the addition of Artisan Gelato by Norman Love.

Beginning Monday, Dec. 8, Bennett’s Sanibel location will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days per week. Artisan Gelato by Norman Love will be offered beginning at 11 a.m. daily until closing while supplies last. Bennett’s will also begin offering table service at breakfast as well as lunch.

“Due to overwhelming demand, we are expanding our hours and menu,” said Bennett’s owner Bob Grissinger, former local morning disc jockey C. David Bennett. “We are looking forward to being open later for our Sanibel clientele and are extremely excited to be the only place on Sanibel to offer Norman Love’s famous Artisan Gelato. Whether residents or vacationers are looking for a delectable afternoon treat or a fabulous dessert, now they can enjoy gelato in addition to our other offerings.”

Gelato is a frozen dessert known for its intense flavors, artisan presentation and nutritious value. With its lower butterfat content, gelato is less fattening and healthier than most ice creams. Artisan Gelato by Norman Love is handmade authentic Italian gelato made daily without preservatives and produced with the same creativity and integrity that goes into Norman Love Confection’s award-winning chocolates. Love trained with second- and third-generation gelato-makers to ensure that his product is always authentic.

A variety of 12 popular and seasonal flavors will be offered daily with three sizes available including Love’s popular waffle cone.

Bennett’s made-from-scratch menu will also begin featuring Wild Maine Blueberry Pancakes with real maple syrup and its popular Strata (a layered baked breakfast dish) daily from 6 to 11 a.m. while supplies last. Strata flavors including ham, sausage, and spinach and feta will be rotated during the week.

“Our strata is a regular sellout, so we are really excited to now be offering it seven days per week,” added Frankie Albano, co-owner and shop general manager.

Bennett’s Fresh Roast has prided itself on its fresh-from-scratch donuts made daily and being the only Southwest Florida donut shop offering fresh roasted coffee from the finest beans.

In addition to fresh roasted coffee and hand-cut-from-scratch donuts, Bennett’s also offers fresh desserts from Grissinger’s own recipe book including praline bread pudding and lemon bars, giving area residents an alternative for afternoon treats. Bennett’s also features packaged whole bean or ground coffees, breakfast muffins, oatmeal, fruit cups and breakfast sandwiches. Tea lovers can choose from a large variety of Harney & Sons Fine Teas.

Lunch offerings including paninis, soups, sandwiches, signature salads and Bennett’s ‘Chicken & Donut’, ‘Donut Dog’ and Lobster Roll are available Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bennett’s other Southwest Florida location in downtown Fort Myers will retain current hours and menu offerings Monday through Sunday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
